The first days of treatment are often the most challenging. Many people who begin opioid recovery struggle with withdrawal, medication side effects, or a lack of immediate support, which can lead to early dropout. OTIS was designed to remove these barriers by offering same-day access to treatment and pairing clients with dedicated peer and nursing support.

Unlike traditional approaches, OTIS specifically addresses the fentanyl crisis in Washoe County. By focusing on rapid engagement, compassionate care, and intensive follow-up, the program gives individuals the best chance to stabilize quickly and remain committed to their recovery plan.

With OTIS, clients don’t have to navigate those early days alone. Instead, they receive consistent encouragement, medical oversight, and real-world strategies for success during a critical time when support matters most.

  • Medication Compliance
OTIS supports clients in taking medication as prescribed through consistent guidance from nurses and peers. This helps reduce missed doses and builds confidence in treatment.

  • Treatment Retention
The program keeps clients engaged during the first 30 days with regular check-ins and encouragement, reducing the risk of early dropout.

  • Sobriety
OTIS defines sobriety as following prescribed medication and maintaining clean drug screens, giving clients a clear, measurable path toward stability.

How OTIS Supports You

OTIS combines Peer Recovery Support Specialists (PRSS) and nursing staff working in tandem with clients throughout their first 30 days. This includes daily coaching, personalized engagement, and emotional support to reinforce motivation and understanding of treatment goals.

Taking the first step can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. The OTIS program is here to give you immediate support, same-day treatment, and a team that walks with you through the critical first 30 days of recovery.

Your recovery can start today.

OTIS is designed for individuals seeking to begin opioid treatment, particularly those affected by the fentanyl crisis in Washoe County. If you’re ready to start recovery, the program can begin as soon as you reach out.

Many clients can begin the same day they contact us—OTIS aims to eliminate delays and provide immediate support as you enter treatment.

During the initial month, clients receive daily guidance from nurses and Peer Recovery Support Specialists (PRSS). This includes help with medication adherence, navigating treatment steps, and building consistency in recovery.

Sobriety in OTIS means taking prescribed medications as directed and having drug screens free from illicit or non-prescribed substances. This clear, measurable standard helps clients track their progress.

The Life Change Center is committed to reducing financial barriers. They serve patients regardless of ability to pay, offering sliding-fee discounts based on household size and income. They also accept a variety of insurance plans—Medicare, Medicaid, and more—and will determine your coverage eligibility during intake.

While OTIS focuses on induction into medication-assisted treatment, TLCC offers complementary services—including psychiatric evaluations, individual and group therapy—for addressing co-occurring mental health needs.
